Mystery Solved

Okay, my blog is fixed now. Many thanks to Lane for the suggestion to cut back on the number of posts I display on the main page. The reason I first displayed that many posts on the main page was because Adrian asked me, so he can thank his twin for correcting the problem that he created ;-). I now only have 20 posts on the front page, and everything looks fine.

Yeah, ok, fine. You have more pictures on your blog than I do by far (I have none, by design). That does make a difference. ;-)]

In Christ.

I also have many more posts than you, which makes a difference. 'Tis a pity I had to alter the setting, because I rather liked being able to scroll through all my archives.

I find it interesting that someone who can appreciate a quote from Les Mis like "beauty is as useful as the useful, perhaps more so" can have such a blah design for his blog - and no pictures. However, I'll hold my peace since I already won that struggle with Cucumberland Island. I choose my battles wisely :-D.

Hooray! I must admit waiting for your blog to finish loading on my comptuer was driving me nuts. :-)

You should have told me earlier, Ashley, and I would have changed the setting. I didn't realize it was inconvenient for anyone else. I only saw benefits, until my front page messed up. I'm glad it's better for you now.

I, too, am glad you cut back on the number of posts displayed. I was actually thinking of e-mailing you to ask if you would consider it. But, now I don't have to (ask that is, not e-mail)! My computer savvy brother said that some people's computers could crash just from trying to download that big of a page. I know ours was taking a looonnnnnng time each time I visited. :)

So you have my affirmative vote for the change. Thanks!

If you have some posts that are especially important to you, maybe you could highlight them in a specifc category like I have done in my sidebar. Just an idea. :)

I think Lydia's idea is excellent, about putting links to your favorite posts in your sidebar.

I'm glad this works out better for others, now! I had no idea my previous set-up was difficult to load. Y'all should have told me earlier!

Thanks for the suggestion for sidebar post links, Lydia (and the second, Ashley). Next week I have a week off from teaching (still tutoring and babysitting), so perhaps I'll find time then to work on some post links. If you (or anyone else!) have any suggestions for posts that are a "must" in the links, let me know :).
