Baking Experiments of Late

One of my favorite novel kitchen gadgets that we received for our wedding is a pizza baking stone. I've always gone with the old pizza-on-a-pan method of cooking, and it's sort of funny how I came about the pizza stone. I had planned on registering for two regular metal pizza pans, but Wal-Mart didn't have the particular size I wanted, and the pizza pans at Bed, Bath, & Beyond were $15 a piece! I noticed that BB&B also had a complete pizza baking set (stone, wood "shovel", rack, and cutter) for the same price, so I registered for the stone instead. And we both love it! It gives a great firm crust that is still chewy. Mmmmm. Highly recommended.

One of my next cooking experiments I hope to embark upon is sourdough bread. One of the women at our church makes fabulous sourdough bread, and I'm going to get tips from her. For now, though, I have a bun in the oven.

Congratulations if this means what we think it does! :)

If Deb is right about the "bun in the oven" meaning, congratulations!!! How exciting :-D

Ahem? Ahem? Susan!

Either you're teasing (and I don't think so) or you & Adrian did like the Mr & I and baked up a little honeymoon baby!

I insist upon your immediate clarification! :)

!!! Do you have a piece of bread cooking in your oven, or are you expecting? EEEE! I'm happy for you either way :)

I like my pizza stone, too. I'm going to bake a pizza with homemade dough on it tomorrow.

Wow, that was fast response :-). Yes we're expecting ;-). Can you say "honeymoon baby"? Hehe.

Congratulations Susan and Adrian! I am SO happy for you! How wonderful is the Lord that you've been so blessed- being revealed to each other and finding love, and now this. To see your story being slowly revealed online through your blogs has been a real treat. I will be praying that you have a smooth and safe pregnancy and that I will someday be reading here about your child's favorite bedtime math problems!

Oh, wow! How exciting! I was wondering when a new baby would be in the news.
Be sure to let us know details as your pregnancy progresses (name ideas, due date, birth plans, cravings, etc.)

What a blessing for you both! A mini-Susan or mini-Adrian will be so neat to have around. Hopefully, I will get your wedding gift sent before he or she is born. (makes mental note to send it soon) Otherwise, I guess I could just send a baby gift along with the wedding gift. :)

I do plan to send it this week. I meant to last week but things were crazy busy with getting ready for travel to Texas for the SAICFF.

Anyway, I am so happy for you both. God is very good and his gifts are the best. :)

Congratulations! I deduced as much from your comment on the nursing cover and am so happy for you both.

How are you feeling? I'm guessing you must be feeling pretty well if you are talking about food. :) I couldn't much stand the stuff for a good while with both of my pregnancies. Maybe you'll be blessed to skip over some of that rather unpleasantness. :)

I loved Samara's comment on the bedtime math problems. :)

I'm not much of a predictor, but I do have one prediction and that is that between the two of you, this child is bound to be above average when it comes to mental capacity. I cannot imagination Adrian and Susan's child being anything other. ;)

Congratulations Susan and Adrian! I read your post before any comments were up and wasn't game to say anything. In Australia, a bun in the oven definately means you're expecting, but I wasn't sure if the phrase had a double meaning in America- I guess it's more universal than I thought!!
Congratulations again!
